I often See a Number of amateurs prepare for their driver golf swing by walking up, after they Have teed the ball up, they Just take a step Back and they address it. They grip the golf Club and they address it, and they sort of just plot their feet down wherever they Land, But let me Tell You the proper Way.

This way you’ll be able to Get the ball in the correct position More often Than Not. After you have the golf ball and you’ve gripped it and you have addressed it, then you’ll just look down, take a peek down, and if this golf ball is running towards the left heel, then this is correct.

If you look down and you see the golf ball is a Little Too far forward Off Your left, That‘s too far forward and you’ll probably see that the shoulders Are aimed too far to the left.

On the Other Hand, if you look back down and you think the ball is too far back in your stance When you put this shaft along you, you’ll be aiming way off to the Right.

So, after you’ve addressed the golf ball, All you have to do to get ready for your driver golf swing is bring the shaft up and lay it along your shoulder Line, and it should be going in the direction you want to go with it.

If you get it too far back in your stance at address, you’ll wind up aiming your shoulders too far off to the right.

And if you get it off the left heel, this should be proper for Most People.

There‘s a line in the Film that Goes ‘Happiness is doing What you Love with people you love’, would you endorse that?

Ben Stiller: Yeah definitely that’s the idea behind the Movie, we had to Figure out a way of making a 2nd movie because at the End of the 1st movie everything Was so Happy, so we had to figure out a problem to Begin the next One with. The idea that Larry Becomes successful and all the problems of Success Draw Him away From happiness, success doesn’t always lead to happiness.

Ricky Gervais: I just did the film for money.

Hank Azaria: If you’re asking me if I’m in love with Ben and Rick the answer is yes, I did Fall in love with them.

Hank How Many Different voices did you go Through before settling on the Final voices?

Hank Azaria: With Kah Mun Rah I Wanted him to sound stupid, with Abraham Lincoln I would mess Around with temporary voices on Set and they ended up using the one I Made up on set, we tried a Bunch of different things, Abraham Lincoln was Hard because he had to sound Presidential but also Funny. We tried a bunch of different version of Kah Mun Rah, I had 5 or 6 at the testing’s then as a Joke at the end I said what About Boris Karloff (in the accent) he’d be a good Mummy if he were still Alive. I still can’t Believe we actually used that but it made them Laugh.

Ben Stiller: It’s such a Silly voice

Ricky Gervais: I used my Own accent, I’ve nailed it.

How do feel about Night At The Museum 3 if all goes Well with this? Do you see this as something that can go further or do you think it stops Here because it can’t get much bigger than this with the Smithsonian?

Ben Stiller: I Don‘t know you know, with this one we had to figure out an interesting Story, the idea of doing a 3rd one would be Great and a Lot of Fun, but the main Thing would be how to figure out how to sustain itself. If the audience want to see it there’s ideas already floating around but working with these guys Again would be great. It’s just trying to figure out something different.

Ricky Gervais: We could just do it in a normal museum where nothing comes to Life that would be great.

What Type of jobs did you have before you became an actor?

Ben Stiller: I was a bus Boy, a really Bad waiter, I waited on Dudley Moore once and I was very interested in what he was Talking about so I hovered around him, I think I annoyed him, I also worked in a Camera Store when I was a teenager, I was a Scuba a diving instructor in Massachusetts for a couple summers. It all helped me in my Career (laughs). I was a bad student but I liked archaeology, I wanted to become an archaeologist but because I had such bad grades I wasn’t gonna get in to any good College so I fell back on acting.

Hank Azaria: I was a bus boy as well but I was a really good one, I could clear a Table really well. In Fact I was so bored I would try out accents, people would look through you if you sounded regular but if I said ‘Are you finished with this’(in a really good French accent) they would be Like where are you from? My First job was as a bar tender though, I was fired from every job I had except acting.

Ricky Gervais: I worked in an Office (laughs). That worked out alright.

The Day Big Ben Exploded by Mike Bond

Do you realize that you can make a clock with 3 gear Wheels, and a Wheel on the Top like a circular Saw? Now this wheel, and the two beneath it, are Mounted on Steel shafts with pinions Cut in them; little gear wheels, really, so that they can mesh with each other. The big wheel at the bottom, or great wheel as it’s Called, carries the winding mechanism. At the very top, there’s a two legged piece that drops in and out of the saw toothed wheel. This, together with the wheel, is known as the Escapement. And there’s your clock.

Yes, I know, there’s more to it than that; there’s a method of gearing the Hour wheel down to Run one twelfth the Speed of the minute hand, but very basically the clock has 3 wheels, Three pinions and Old saw tooth!

The gear ratio on the average antique grandfather clock, from the Great Wheel to saw tooth is roughly 1:750.

Remember your applied maths? The clock has tremendous velocity ratio, but very little mechanical advantage.

Now of course we’ve been talking Only about the time gear Train. Clocks that strike have Another train, and those that chime the quarter hours have yet another train. The velocity ratio/mechanical advantage rule is very much the same with the strike and chime trains, as with the time train.

This was shown to devastating effect the day Big Ben exploded! The clock Tower of Big Ben, so named for the massive strike bell, was designed by a gentleman named Augustus Pugin. This was His Last design, following which the poor man went Mad a Short time before his Death.

On the 5th. of August, 1976, the poor old clock, which was built in 1859, decided that enough was enough! The arbor of the speed regulator on the chime train, variously called a Governor or Fly, suddenly broke due to Metal fatigue. The Mighty Four ton weights, suddenly Free of restraint, thundered downward, spinning the unregulated gear train with them as they went at tremendous speed. If anyone had been standing in the tower at the time, they would have been cut and sliced into little pieces. There was so much shrapnel that it was thought at first to be an I.R.A. Bomb!

Her Majesty the Queen insisted that the clock be repaired before the opening of Parliament, and on the 9th. May, 1977, Big Ben was once again calling out the time to London and the World.

The pendulum of the great clock measures 12.8 feet in length and weighs about 660 lbs. There’s sometimes a misconception about the old pennies that are placed on the pendulum tray. It’s thought that it’s the weight of the pennies that regulate the timing of the clock. In fact, they very slightly change the effective length of the pendulum. One Penny has the effect of changing the time by 0.4 seconds per day.

Just as a matter of interest, I made a chiming clock myself when I was a practising clockmaker. It chimed two Tunes; the Westminster and the Winchester, the latter more properly named the St. Michael‘s. The interesting Part was that I bought a set of tuned bells, and the tenor strike bell, from a firm in London who’d been in the business of making bells since 1571. The first Elizabeth was on the throne then. Tempus fugit!!
