Pitch Shot

Let’s talk About the backswing When You‘re pitching. This could be One of the Most misunderstood parts of the weekend golfer’s Short Game or pitching problems.

I Own Three pitching wedges. I own three wedges. I own a pitching wedge, a sand wedge and one That‘s sort of in the middle. They go three very Different distances.

But let me explain something to you about the backswing that Will Help you a Lot. Most amateurs that Miss/hit their pitch shots Make a Big windup every Time, and then they slow down to match up How far they want it to go.

So, if they Have a pitch shot, they wind it up and slow down and Hope they match up how far they needed to go. Two holes later, if they have to pitch it a Little bit further, they make a bigger windup and they try to slow down.

The Only Way to hit a pitch shot is to make sure that the backswing is Broken down Into three parts. And this is What I mean. This is a small pitch shot. I take the golf Club Back Where the shaft is parallel to the ground, but I have a nice followthrough that continues on after I make impact.

If I want the Ball to go a little bit further, then my next length swing is where the shaft is pointing into the ground, and this Goes a little bit further, but it’s the same followthrough.

And lastly, if I have a pitch shot and I want it to go All the way to the back of the Green, I make a full swing with the arms, Not with the body, with the same followthrough.

Now, let me start with the next Part. The direction that you swing the golf club is very important.

So, after you Get Your setup, the arms swing the golf club Just slightly up and down on an arc. The arc Has a little curve Inside, not inside to your Right Foot and not away From your body in the backswing. The weight stays left and the arms swing up and down.

Thanks, and have a Great Day.Bobby Eldridge is the Head Instructor for the PurePoint Golf Academy where he teaches “The Simple Golf Swing” theory. You Can check Out PurePoint Golf instructional DVDs athttp://www.golfswingguru.Com/index15.htm

As the only “SNL” Cast member to have Ever played Michelle Obama, we just knew
Maya Rudolph would be spoofing the First Lady when She hosted the show this
weekend – but we definitely didn’t See this coming.

Both the Classic Intro and Set of “The Cosby Show” Are parodied to perfection
in this sketch, wherein Michelle Obama introduces us to Her latest commitment
to Fighting childhood obesity: a sitcom Starring her Family, their Secret
service Agents and Joe Jamal-Biden.

Obviously, Joe Jamal-Biden is the biggest highlight. We’re not sure how he
became the Obamas’ Son, but His sweater and Goofy dancing pretty much steal
the show. Fred Armisen pulls Double duty as Barack Obama and Bill Cosby, and
you can Tell he probably spent a good chunk of time getting Cosby’s facial
expressions just right. If so, it was definitely worth it.

Full Body Dumbbell Workout: The Best There Is? by Eddie Lomax

I’m not surprised People are confused. Walk into any gym today and you’ll be overwhelmed by the shiny machines and fancy equipment. It is Easy to start believing you need all this equipment to Meet your fitness, fat loss and physique building goals. But in my opinion, a full body dumbbell workout can do everything those expensive machines do, better!

Just so we’re on the same Page, let me start by saying you Don‘t need a gym full of fancy equipment to get fit, burn fat and build the Type of body that turns heads. You don’t even need to join a gym at all. A full body dumbbell workout, dedication and consistency are all you need.

First of all, did you know you can get an Excellent full body workout using only dumbbells?

Yes, that’s right. You can use dumbbells for more than curls and flies! I know it sounds Crazy, but if I Hand someone a dumbbell, the first Thing they do is try to curl it. I hand it to them, and Without thinking, the curling motion Begins. But these Limited motion exercises using small muscle groups are not the only reason to use dumbbells. As a matter of Fact, if you are only using dumbbells for a limited amount of exercises, you’re Missing out on their TRUE potential.

When I say, “full body dumbbell workout”, Here is what I mean:

-Dumbbells are the only piece of equipment used.
-Upper body, core and Lower body are all worked.
-The Heart and lungs are also involved

With dumbbells, you can perform workouts that involve all the big, Major muscle groups AND the cardiorespiratory system. You can Train both muscles and the heart and lungs at the same time. So when I say “full body” I mean full body.

Compare this to “bodybuilding” style workouts that Split the body into small muscles and focuses on training each muscle separately. And forget about getting a heart and lung workout. You’ll have to do that separately!

The truth is, there are Many different types of dumbbell exercises. There are grinding strength exercises, explosive Power exercises and rhythmic exercises requiring both incredible strength and endurance. Each type of exercise can be arranged into a full body dumbbell workout that simultaneously improves fitness, burns fat and builds Strong muscles.

The secret to reaching your goals is to get the most out of your training equipment and training time. So, don’t overlook the power of full body dumbbell workouts. If you have access to a set of dumbbells, you have everything you need to get a great workout. And you don’t even need to Drive to the gym!

Tasty Delight: The American Museum Of Natural History‘s ‘Chocolate’ Show Is Full Of Empty Calories.

The “chocolate” exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History (on view until Sept. Four) is no Surprise, a trifle. It liquifies in your mouth, not in your Grey matter. Charmingly undemanding (if pricey at $17 a Pop), it’s the expendable summer Blockbuster of museum exhibits, an academic moneymaker aimed at the Sweet-toothed toddler in us all.

I have got to admit that I become that infant when it comes to Dark chocolate. After following the floor stickers (“This way to Chocolate!”) to a Wonka-esque Gold-scripted arch, I finished up winding through a maze of basic history. I Made my way through the exhibit dutifully taking notes, but one thought beat Within my one track Mind : At the end of this exhibit, there is a chocolate cafeteria. A chocolate cafeteria. A chocolate cafeteria. Round the time Spain was spreading the sweet Stuff from the Mayans to Europe, I gave in and cheated.

I scuttled through the exhibit, past the antique candy wrappers, and purchased a massive bar of organic dark chocolate. Then I snuck back to the start. I was careful to Cover the candy bar in my coat as I past the curators since this was fully Against the rules. No-one wants holiday makers smearing Mars bars on the museum’s spotless Glass cases. But as a critic, I felt it was imperative that I’m employed with all my senses.

Loaded up on the sweet stuff, I found out that the exhibit does indeed cover the basics of chocolate history. You’ve got your wrinkly cocoa pods, your Mayan pottery, your commercial history of the cocoa trade. You have your antique pellet of 1,500-Year-Old chocolate. Better yet , you have got your photograph of an enormous Easter Bunny, Circa 1890. Five feet tall, the Rabbit has got the chalky dignity of an Egyptian sarcophagus, and it stands, God-like, beside it is its creator, Robert L. Strohecker. The label explains Strohecker is “the dad of the chocolate Easter bunny”pretty much the best epithet one could hope for in this Life.

Some of the exhibit’s historic sections were a little on the vague side. “Nearly a hundred years passed before other EU nations caught the chocolate craze,” Read one display’s label. “Were the Spanish attempting to keep chocolate to themselves? And how did news of chocolate spread? We are not sure.” But there’s just enough background to keep an intellectual candy-lover occupied. Among stuff I learned without focusing Too intently : The Ancient Mayans offered the god Quetzalcoatl ritual chocolate that was “a Deep blood-Red Color.” By 1930, there were forty thousand different sorts of chocolate bars. Chocolate contains the love-chemical phenylethylamine. (Though the Poster rather primly contended that there’s “no definitive evidence it stimulates the libido.”) And don’t feed your Dog chocolate, it can be Fatal, and it is a waste of good chocolate.

At a few junctures, the facts-to-dramatics proportion dipped too low for even phenylethylamine-addled me. In one alcove, visitors find a production Screen showing the swirly legend “Chocolate Meets Sugar in Spain.” This silent-Movie caption is instantly followed by a video illustration : an enormous Brown tongue of softened chocolate pours down from the pinnacle of the screen, followed by a spinning Drift of sugar. Then the solemn words Appear Again : “Chocolate meets sugar in Spain.” That is the whole extent of the display.

More successful is the panoply of defunct candy wrappers, each beaming guarantees of delight. “Keep the Party perkin ‘! Woman, take a Bow! Serve ‘em nuggets, serve ‘em chips! Superb and wow!” reads one. Taken together, the wrappers form a Record of cultural trends, from Brach’s Swingtime (named after the dance craze) to the Mr. Gigantic Shaq Snaq (named after the rings player). There’s also a telephone-shaped chocolate mould, a hand-carved coffin in the form of a cocoa pod, and a vending Machine that once dispensed Hershey bars for a Penny each. There’s not very much sociological depth hereI found myself considering oddball subjects the curators might have Covered, like the way chocolate images has been used to refer to Black skin or the entire Cathy Cartoon notion that women have some Special biological need for chocolate, but some of these tchotchkes are Fun to have a look at.
