Pasco County Judge Says Foreclosure Fees should Not be Expensive

Pasco County Circuit Judge Susan Gardner Has warned Lawyers in Pasco County, Florida, Against the common practice of inflating legal fees for foreclosure cases. The judge said She would be closely watching and would not tolerate unreasonable attorneys’ fees.

In November, Judge Gardner reviewed her foreclosure cases following testimonies from ex-employees of a Major foreclosure Company that their former employer overbills clients for legal services and forges legal documents. She said she discovered that lawyers usually charge about $800 to $1,800 for legal services that should Only collect about $45 to several hundreds of Dollars.

Judge Gardner plastered legal files with adhesive and small notes that detailed concerns Over expensive fees for serving notices of foreclosure. She said she has been warning lawyers that there had to be good and practical reasons for the exorbitant fees.

Several lawyers Who submitted their affidavits to court that assert their fees are ‘reasonable’ Almost always indicating their names as Well as bar numbers in eligible scribbles. Judge Gardner picked Five lawyers and ordered them to explain or justify why their legal service fees could be considered reasonable. Unfortunately, None of the explanations pleased the judge. However, Judge Gardner said she has decided to make it a warning.

In One selected Case, an invoice from a lawyer indicated that Both defendants in the same case were served. The invoice also comprised of two charges for two Other Unknown spouses and two other unknown tenants. However, none of all Four individuals were traced. After Three Days, an invoice showed that process server tried to serve main defendants as well as unknown spouses in Indiana.

We the people have been Told that the “terrorists” Hate us because of “our freedoms”. Opposing Israel’s occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people does not make one anti-Semitic, but proves one cares for the weak, the vulnerable and those without a voice.

Graham sites Matthew 5:44, that Christians are to “love your Enemies” and Psalm 122:6 that we are to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” Lebanon is 30% Christian, and now that American evangelicals are waking up to the ‘crisis in the Holy Land, the Real crisis may Soon be addressed. A partial list includes:

1. Four decades of Israeli occupation in Palestinian territories.

2. Millions of refugees who are not allowed to Return Home and millions more who cannot get passports to Leave

3. Over 100 unrecognized villages in Israel where Arab’s have Israeli citizenship and pay taxes, but receive no services; no electricity, no water, no medical, no schools, no human rights, no respect.

According to The Nation on the Web [Aug. 8, 2006 "Birth Pangs of a New Christian Zionism"] over the past months, the White House has convened a Series of Off-the-Record meetings about Its policies in the Middle East with leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), a newly formed political organization that tells its members that supporting Israel’s expansionist policies is “a biblical imperative.”

The Nation reported that CUFI’s pressed White House officials to adopt a more confrontational posture toward Iran, to refuse aid to the Palestinians and give Israel a Free Hand as it ramped up its military conflict with Hezbollah. The White House has not Revealed the names of the officials who met with CUFI lobbyists which is a tentacle from the Armageddon-based foreign-policy views of its founder, John Hagee. Hagee is a fundamentalist, Fire-and-brimstone preacher and a Leader of the fastest Growing cult in America: Christian Zionism.

While Jewish Zionism began with the Hope that all Jewish people would have a safe and peaceful dwelling place, these corruptors of the gospel Christ preached, adhere to a 200 Year Old mis-interpretation and mis-Reading of disparate scriptures that they have weaved together to support their Fear based doctrine.

Hagee has captivated nearly 18,000 misled Christians at His Cornerstone Church and he also hosts a major TV ministry where he explains his views of how the End times will unfold. He blatantly corrupts and denies the message that Christ preached. Hagee, Hal Lindsay and the Left Behinder’s are Doomsday false ‘prophets’ who Believe that the only way to defeat “Islamist fascists” is with a Full-scale military assault. The cult of ‘Christian’ Zionism is basically the Spirit of what an Antichrist has been understood to be for centuries of theologians.

The theology of Premellenial Dispensation worships a god of Armageddon and not the God of love, forgiveness and compassion that Jesus/AKA The Prince of Peace taught. To be anti-Christ is to be anti-what Christ taught, such as it is the peacemakers who are God’s children and one must forgive to be forgiven. While Jewish Zionism’s intent was that all Jews would have a safe and peaceful place to live, Christian Zionism and their Pre-Millenial philosphy is inherently anti-Semitic. Their intent is to convert the Jews to Christianity or leave them to perish in a nuclear holocaust, which they believe they will be raptured out of.

Darby had great success in connecting with the post-Civil War survivors and was able to transmit his new theology into the heartland of America. Despite the horrifying news of Czarist pogroms that could have been the catalyst to establishing a Jewish state before the Holocaust, the fundamentalists moved onto the Scope’s Trial and Forgot about the Jews for a while.

Fifty Years later and after six Million innocents were Cold bloodedly murdered, and then only after the British Mandate ran out, Israel was born. Most evangelicals interpreted the establishment of Israel to be the fulfillment of -how they understood and interpreted- certain prophetic scriptures. They interpreted the Israeli Victory in the 1967 War and the capture of Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza, Sinai and the Golan Heights to be an act of God and not because of Israeli superior military might.

The American Bi-Centennial in 1976 was a watershed year for the religious right. While mainline churches declined evangelical fundamentalist churches became the fastest growing sector of American Christianity. In 1977, when President Carter stated “The Palestinians deserve a right to their homeland.” The Christian fundamentalists and Israeli lobby responded with full Page ads stating: “The time has come for evangelical Christians to affirm their belief in biblical prophecy and Israel’s divine right to the land…and affirm our belief in the Promised Land to the Jewish people.” [Ibid]

The Reagan White House hosted a series of seminars from the Israeli lobby and Christian right. This was when Hal Lindsay, Pat Robertson, Jerry Fawell and the Moral majority infiltrated the West Wing.

“Fawell received a Lear Jet from the Israeli government for his Personal Travel…When Israel bombed the Iraqi nuclear plant in 1981, Prime Minister Begin Called Jerry Fawell [ before he called Reagan] to ask Him ‘to explain to the Christian public the reasons for the bombings.’” [Ibid pg. 37]

In 1996, Netanyahu and Likud ideology dominated Israeli policy and 17 evangelical USA pastors pledged their support of illegal colonies in the West Bank, Gaza, the Golan Heights and full support for a Jerusalem under sovereignty of Israel.

The Christian Zionists launched a PR campaign under the Banner: “Christians Call for a United Jerusalem.”

They ignored the Fact that they were in conflict with American policy and the Oslo process as well as a direct Attack on Roman Catholic and mainline Protestant unity with the Churches for Middle East Peace that called for a Shared Jerusalem. What Hagee and the Left Behind crowd have left behind is that Christ promised: “The Peacmakers Shall be called the children of God.” Matthew 5:9

“The coming nuclear showdown with Iran is a certainty,” Hagee wrote this year in the Pentecostal magazine Charisma. “Israel and America must confront Iran’s nuclear ability and willingness to destroy Israel with nuclear weapons. For Israel to wait is to risk committing National Suicide.”

The theology of the fictional Left Behind series, is an example of the spirit of anti-christ: fear of the other that drives one to violence. THE PHILOSOPHY AND MORALS of JESUS of NAZARETH, as penned by Thomas Jefferson illuminate just how far these neo-Christians have strayed from the message Christ delivered and modeled with his Life. According to Christ, to be his follower, one must be just: for justice comes from virtue which comes from the Heart. Judge Judy: A Great Role Model For Older Women? by

I Love Judge Judy. If every Kid to had a no-nonsense Judge Judy Type mother there would be fewer problems in the world.

However, I’m not sure she’s a great role model for older women. This is why: Judge Judy was sharing her wisdom on the Larry King Show, and the conversation turned to computers. Judy and Larry admitted they had never used a computer, and that’s okay. When you have people who can do what you Don‘t want to do or can’t do that’s fine.

But Here‘s the Thing. Judy implied that she was too old to learn. She didn’t say so in so many words, but that was her message, loud and clear. It should not have surprised me on her show, she often makes comments about getting old” or being old.” As Smart as she is, she seems not to understand that you are what you say you are. Chronological old” is one thing. Mental old” is something else. You can’t control the former but you are in full control of the latter as long as you have your wits about you.

Here’s what really bothers me: Her comment about age being a deterrent to learning new information compounds the widely held myth that old (or older) people can’t learn new things. Judge Judy is an extremely influential woman we listen to her and accept her wisdom. While she was speaking I could just Picture older women who have given up on themselves, silently assenting that they too are too old to learn to use a computer, thankful to Judge Judy that she has given them permission to continue to vegetate.

She often chastises miscreants on her show, suggesting that they need an epiphany.” An epiphany, according the dictionary is a sudden realization, a sudden intuitive Leap of understanding, especially through an ordinary but striking occurrence.”

Judge Judy is not old, but her comments and demeanor make one think that she’s older than her reputed 56 years. She needs an epiphany. Not just for herself, but for the countless women who look to her as a role model.

That she has others who do computer work for her is great. It frees her up to do other things. However, I suggest that she keep her brilliant Super-charged Brain firing on all cylinders as she enters her older years by learning to use a computer. Other than doing crossword puzzles, I can think of nothing more challenging than doing Battle with a dumb Machine that makes you think far more intensely than you can imagine.

For example, remembering passwords is a major pain. I keep a log of passwords for handy reference, but I don’t refer to it until and unless I am stumped when trying to log into a password protected page or program. I constantly Surprise myself that I can remember so many different passwords. For me, that is a major benefit of using a computer the constant challenge to remember what I want to remember.

Age be damned, Judge Judy! You are too old to learn only when you say you are. Get a new attitude, Your Honor!

Leadership Roles Given By Judge To Fosamax Lawsuit Lawyers

Several Fosamax lawyers have been appointed to serve as leaders in the recently formed multidistrict litigation (MDL) on Fosamax femur fracture lawsuits by US District Judge Garret E. Brown, Jr. Brown is presiding over all federal Fosamax femur fracture lawsuits as ordered by the US Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation Last May. Those who claimed to have been affected by Fosamax must be aware that Not taking Fosamax correctly could damage your lawsuit against Merck.

During the coordinated litigation, the appointed attorneys will perform certain actions that will benefit all plaintiffs who have filed a lawsuit over a fractured femur from prolonged Fosamax intake. Manufactured by Merck & Co since 1995, Fosamax (alendronate sodium) belongs to a group of Drug called Bisphosphonate and is a popular osteoporosis medication. Although it was designed to strengthen the bones, recent studies have suggested that long-term use of Fosamax and other Bisphosphonates might lead to severe side effects such as femur fractures, osteonecrosis, musculoskeletal pain and esophageal cancer.

If they experience groin pain which may occur several weeks before a Complete fracture while using Fosamax, users are warned to seek medical attention as prompted by studies. As alleged by all lawsuits involved in the MDL, side effects of Fosamax increase the risk of atypical femur fractures, which can occur with Little or no trauma at all. The plaintiffs claim that Merck Failed to properly research the medication or adequately warn consumers.

Fosamax lawyers throughout the United States who have been reviewing and filing lawsuits on behalf of individuals who suffered a sudden femur fracture while taking the medication have been growing in numbers since the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) required new warnings about the risk of Fosamax thigh bone fractures in October 2010. Some 36 Fosamax fracture lawsuits were pending in federal district courts throughout the United States during the time the MDL was formed. Since then a larger Number of cases have been filed in the state court in New Jersey and other states throughout the United States while some 24 additional cases since then have been transferred to the MDL.

The MDL on Fosamax lawsuits over Jaw problems known as osteonecrosis of the jaw, will not be affected by this MDL as the former will remain centralized as part of a different MDL in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, before U.S. District Judge John F. Keenan. More than 900 Fosamax jaw lawsuits were consolidated in New York, as part of an MDL that was established in August 2006. Because the evidence of General causation leading to femur fractures would likely differ substantially from cases dealing with jaw bone damage, the Fosamax fracture lawsuits were excluded from this MDL.
