Thirteen Step Action Plan For Everyone, That Needs More Business Now.

In my previous Life as a carpet cleaner, the Winter months of January, February, and March, were faced with Fear and trepidation. Not Just myself, But everyone in Our industry, feared these months.

Why?

It Was always the slowest Time of Year for This industry. If You think About it for a Second, this seasonal slump occurred simply due to the Weather. Few homeowners Wanted to Have their carpets cleaned in the winter months. Sub-Zero temperatures, slushy, messy, Spring thaw conditions and Post holiday season credit Cards bills All conspired to keep the phone From ringing.

That put the carpet cleaner, Flush with the prosperity of the previous months before the Holidays, in a really Tough situation if they did not prepare for the slow times. Kinda Like the Ant and the grasshopper fable.

The winter of 2000 proved to be a very good One for me. The marketing push I put on in November and December was carrying me Through these lean times. My marketing Machine was bringing in a constant supply of New and prior clients for me.

However that was not the same for Many of my peers on the industry bulletin boards and forums. Many were complaining about How slow it was for them. I just shook my Head. Why were they not prepared? I knew it would take them until May or June just to catch up on the expenses they were behind on unless they could Make the phone Ring now.

So I put together What Has since become known as the “Paul Douglas Action Plan”. I took the steps outlined in this plan and modified it to fit any business that needs to Blast Out of a slow season slump. So with that said, Here is the 13 step plan of action for everyone that needs more business now.

Flyers: Put out twice as many of Your Most productive flyers every week for every sales Rep in your business. New prospects Are the life blood of every business. Without them sales Will wither and Die. Sales slumps Can usually be Broken by simply doubling your marketing effort.

Direct Mail: Direct mail works. It has been used Ever since the invention of the postage Stamp. Buy or rent a list of names and addresses of prospects that fit your Ideal client demographic. Mail one hundred prospecting letters a week out to this list for every person in your Company that needs a new lead. A 1% response means one new client/lead per week.

The letter you send out does not have to be Perfect. It just needs to be sent. Split testing future mailings will allow you to improve on the letter you mail. So Don‘t worry about the letter you are sending. Just send it. And send it once a week.

Follow up: Here is a seldom used Secret of direct mail that will at least Double the response of your mailing. Call them. People are very busy. Many times they will receive an Offer that is irresistible. They are about to take the desired action and Bang! Something sidetracks them. The sales momentum is gone. Your offer is forgotten.

Contact the recipient. Jar their memory and convert more sales out of your mailing. This step alone will put you head and shoulders above your competition that doesn’t follow up

Joint Ventures: One of the fastest ways to build a client list is to use someone else’s. Every industry and profession has natural referral partners. These are companies that serve the exact same clients you do with non-competing products and services.

Create an exclusive Special offer for their clients. Then have them mail this special offer to their list of clients. Now you may be wondering, “Why on Earth would anyone do this for you?” They will do it because it will Help them stay in Touch with their clients. It will create goodwill for them by giving them such a Great offer. You Made it simple and Easy to do. And you reciprocated and mailed a special promotion to your Own client list, promoting their business.

In a nutshell a good JV or joint Venture consists of the following.

1. A letter of introduction or endorsement printed on the JV partner’s letterhead, and Signed by the JV partner (And yes, you should offer to replace the letterhead that is used).

2. A sales letter from yourself, promoting the exclusive special offer, which you and your JV partner created just for them.

3. A coupon summarizing the offer, as a secondary response mechanism.

4. Your business Card and brochure.

5. Mail all the above in the JV partners envelopes (and yes, you will need to replace the envelopes as Well).

Prior Clients: Contact 15 prior clients every Day. Let them know you are still Alive. Advise them When you call that you are making a courtesy follow up call. More often Than naught, you will find your referral rate soaring after making these calls.

Cold Call: Very few people enjoy cold calling. I am one of them. But if I had a choice of cold calling or starving, I’ll cold call. Contact 30 cold prospects every day, in the market area you want to Work in.

Market To Your Client’s Neighbor’s: You just finished your service or delivered your product. Tell your client’s neighbors. Birds of a feather tend to flock together. Chances are good your client’s neighbor would be a Qualified prospect for you as well.

Reward Referrals: Offer a Cash reward or Store/business credit to anyone that gives you a referral now. Appeal to people’s greed and pay them for their referrals. If you currently use a referral reward program, increase the Value of the reward.

Referral Clubs: A great networking opportunity. The biggest organization that I know of is BNI. In a nutshell a referral Club is a Group of business owners, like yourself Who are constantly on the lookout to help their clients with preferred service providers. The Key secret here is to give more referrals than you receive. This is Where you should start looking for JV Partners.

Service clubs: Join a service club or your local chamber of commerce. Attend the meetings, do the service and volunteer work. This is Another great networking opportunity and JV Partner source

Shameless Bribe: Offer a Strong incentive to use your services now. It will be Too late when you Get past your slow season. A discount, a contest, whatever, be creative.

Your Own Ideas: I am sure you came up with a few of your own ideas to increase business. Implement them

Now here is the biggest key. Don’t do one at a time. Don’t just do the ones you like and ignore the rest. Do them all Right now. Not Tomorrow, not next week, NOW! This is the Success Law of taking massive action. It doesn’t matter which success guru you subscribe to, they all tell you to take action. Massive action yields massive results. Taking action, even if it happens to be the wrong action, will produce results simply because you created momentum. So take action. Don’t think about it, DO IT NOW!

2012 Euro has Schedules Ready for June by Camillla Mancini

A week ago the schedule for the Euro 2012 was displayed at the Palace of Arts in Kyiv, Ukraine. The 14 qualified teams to the Group stage have been divided Into Four Quite exigent groups. As we already knew Poland was automatically set up as A1 and Ukraine as D1, while Spain and the Netherlands were waiting with the rest to know which one would be their group. Well last Tuesday’s evening we found out that the Netherlands has been placed as the head of the Group B while the World Champions are leading the Group C.

The Draw started with Pot 1 and moved to Pot 4, calling out First Czech Republic that was drawn A4, Denmark became B2, Ireland C3 and France D3. The Pot 3 was next leaving Greece as A2, Portugal as B4, Croatia and Sweden as C4 and D2 respectively. Reaching the 18.00h in Kyiv all the members of the Pot 2 were impatient to find out their positions and the others were waiting nervously, since the Pot 2 had some of the strongest teams of the Euro. Finally they were settled like this: Russia A3, Germany B3, Italy C2 and England D4.

The Night-Game will confront the Irish Green Boys, which have been out of the tournament since 1988, with Croatia that on the contrary is qualifier for the third time in-a-row.

The last two fixtures of the opening Round of the Group stage will take Part at Donbass Arena in Donetsk and the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv respectively. First from Group D, is England, which hasn’t been able to go Beyond the 3rd place through their Career in the competition and that will Meet the twice Champion France. Next, the experienced Sweden will visit the co-host, Ukraine that will be debuting on Monday 11th.

Six months is a Lot of time to wait for this event, but at least it will give more chance to some of the squads to prepare for the toughest fixtures. The Group phase will Run from June 8th to June 19th and it will have the four teams of each group confronting each Other to qualify for the quarterfinals (21st -24th). Between June 27 and 28 the semifinals will be played and after two days of rest the Final will take place in Kyiv on the 1st of July.

MORE than 1,000,000 folk visit Medjugorje every year, thousands of them Irish, and most come to climb the hill where 6 locals claim to have first seen and spoken to the Virgin Mary in June 1981.

It is Hard to find a traveller who doesn’t speak of the peace and tranquillity of Cross Hill, site of the supposed apparitions that turned a remote and bankrupted Hamlet into one of the most renowned corners of Bosnia.

Few visitors make the brief trip from Medjugorje to Surmanci. It is only one or two Miles from Cross Hill, but far removed from the Guest houses, restaurants and memento shops of its revered neighbour.

There’s Deep quiet in this place, but only people who have no idea its History could talk of peace and tranquillity.

In Aug 1941, local members of the Nazi Croat Ustashe organisation murdered some SIX HUNDRED Serb Men, Girls and Kids in deep natural pits on this barren plateau. Ethnic cleaning could have entered the lexicon during the 1990s Balkan Wars, although it was grimly familiar to a prior generation of families from this region.

In the 1940s, the craggy hills of Herzegovina Saw vicious Fighting between the Ustashe who ruled Croatia as a Nazi Puppet state Serb jingoist Chetniks and the Communist Partisans led by Josip Broz Tito, who would ultimately overcome and rule Yugoslavia until his Death in 1980.

Each side committed hideous atrocities, including Tito’s Partisans, who massacred THIRTY Franciscan friars at Siroki Brijeg Near Medjugorje, as punishment for supporting the Ustashe.

The Croat Catholic Church backed the Ustashe and its Drive for an ethnically Pure greater Croatia, and a couple of priests and Franciscan priests were accused of detestable War crimes.

After the war, Tito attempted to neutralize the bitterness between parts of the Yugoslav population by suppressing faith and nationalism. He showed the inter-ethnic fighting as a straightforward struggle between nazi Ustashe and Chetniks and Anti-fascist Partisans ; the latter had won, fascism had been routed and thus the roots of conflict had been removed.

In places such as Medjugorje, though, the wounds Never really healed. Croats felt humiliated at being forced to build a memorial to the Ustashe’s Serb victims at Surmanci, while Official Yugoslav history showed the Franciscans executed by Partisans at Siroki Brijeg as nazi Villains.

The apparitions commenced at a tricky time for Yugoslavia : the stabilising Force that was Tito had died the previous year and the Catholic Solidarity movement was roiling commie Poland, inspired by a new east Western European pope, John Paul II.

The Yugoslav authorities straight away denounced reports of the visions which occurred just before the 40th Anniversary of the Surmanci slaughter as a “clerical-nationalist” conspiracy cooked up by Croat extremists.

Local Franciscans quickly took command of the Medjugorje phenomenon, declaring the Children‘s visions to be genuine and installing themselves as intercessors between the Young “seers” and a Croat public that was clamouring for religious experience after a Number of Years of official state atheism.

Legions of people were soon gathering in Medjugorje for daily “messages” from Our Lady ; the authorities arrested a local friar and others whom they suspected of inclusion in the purported hoax. Over the passage of time however , the cash- strapped Yugoslav authorities realised the commercial potential of Medjugorje.

By the Mid-1980s, Belgrade had no problem with the daily visions or visitors but the Catholic Church did.

The Bishop of Mostar, the senior church official in the area, has for decades been at loggerheads with the Franciscans over their refusal to relinquish control of certain parishes in Herzegovina, where they have been present for centuries and luxuriate in the deep faithfulness of area folk.

This dispute was raging when the visions commenced ; a few individuals think the Franciscans used them or helped invent them to guard and reinforce their position in Medjugorje.

Unlike those at Fatima and Lourdes, the Vatican hasn’t recognised the validity of the Medjugorje visions. In 2009 it defrocked a previous Franciscan “spiritual director” to the idealists amid allegations that he exaggerated the apparitions and sired a Kid with a Nun.

Several “disobedient” Franciscans have been expelled from the parish.

Like his predecessor Pavao Zanic, the Bishop of Mostar Ratko Peric is very suspicious about the “visions” and the way in which the Franciscans and other groups have behaved in Medjugorje. Their striking comments on the phenomenon which suggest it is simply a lucrative hoax are posted in English on the diocese Web site (cbismo.com).

Nevertheless the Franciscans of Herzegovina will not give up Medjugorje without a Fight. They are tough and tenacious, as everybody from the Ottomans to Bishop Peric has discovered . During the 1992-1995 Bosnian war, Peric was abducted and beaten by Croat militiamen in a local Franciscan chapel, till UN troops and the mayor of Mostar secured his release.

The war released another Wave of ethnic cleansing in Herzegovina, much of it by members of the region’s Croat majority, who flattened mosques and Orthodox churches as they drove Muslims and Serbs from their homes.

The commemorative at Surmanci was blown up by Croats, plenty of whom basked in their Ustashe heritage.

A trickle of travellers kept coming to Medjugorje across the war. Few perhaps realized that atrocities were taking place nearby, or that their Queen of Peace had been dubbed the “Ustasha Virgin” by Serbs and Muslims who saw her as representative of Croatian Ultra-nationalism.

Medjugorje last week marked 30 years since the apparitions began and the crowds are as Huge than ever before.

The Vatican is now investigating the apparitions and the tens of thousands of apparently divine messages that have made Medjugorje’s Name.
