You May Have wondered if your golfing predecessor existed. Was There such a person Who also thought up the concept of a golf tournament for an Easy Day off and a chance to beat the pants off your superior?

How did golf tournaments come About / What is their History? In 1860 eight professionals competed in a golf tournament at Prestwick in Scotland playing Three 12-hole rounds of golf for the Prize of a Red leather belt. The idea for the prize was derived From medieval knights’ tournaments, and any player who could win This golfing tournament three Years running would gain permanent possession of the belt. This event was eventually Won by Willie Park and this served as the forerunner of the now Famous British Open Golf Championship.

The Early years of the championship was dominated by One ruffian named “Old Tom Morris” and His Son appropriately named “Young Tom Morris”. Tom Morris Senior was one of the Most prominent figureheads in the early development of the golfing sport. Mr. Morris Senior was Well known as a golfing Ball and Club maker at the Prestwick and St. Andrews golfing centers. And as well later became influential in golf course architecture. As well Mr. Morris Sr. went on as an expert golfer to win the British Open championships in consecutively in 1861, 1862 and 1864.

The younger son Tom Morris was even More a more skillful and polished golfer winning the Four British Opens unbelievably winning three tourneys in a row from 1868 to 1870 and thus claiming possession of the coveted red belt. Three years later the Claret Jug was introduced as the Open prize, and it remains so today.

Thus the Morris clan dominated the historic golf tournament site early on, But the Open Championship and British golf was yet to be surprised. The Trio of the Great Triumvirate of Harry Vardon , John Henry Taylor and James Braid unbelievably won 16 golf tournament titles in the Time period between 1894 and 1914 and even played Second a Combined Total of 12 times.

Of the three players of the Group Mr. Vardon had the most significant and Long standing impact on the golfing scene and Game Beyond his great competitive Spirit. Few Orlando area vacations are complete without at least one day spent at the King of all amusement parks. But once you’ve visited Disney, ridden all the rides and had your fill of cotton candy, Hot dogs and soda, what’s left? In the Orlando area, you’re in luck!

Things to do in Orlando and its immediate environs besides Disney include:

* Kissimmee/St. Cloud. This area Just outside of Orlando proper is home to a busy Strip loaded with activities that include dining, entertainment, arcades and more.

* Medieval Knights. Step into the past at this dinner theater with a biting old-Age theme. The food’s incredible. The show’s even Better.

* Cassadega. Also known as “Psychic Central,” this community is a Short Drive from Orlando and its surreal streets and Unusual attractions Make it well worth a drive.

If you’d Like to see a Little more of Florida than the Big tourist areas, Orlando is a great starting Out point, too. With its convenient central location most points Within the state are within a few hours drive. With the exception of the extreme south and the panhandle, most points are great for day trips.

Here are some Other Florida sights worth seeing after the fun at Disney is Over:

* Daytona. Only about an Hour or so from Orlando, the Daytona/Ft. Lauderdale area is home to some of the state’s best surfing action.

* St. Augustine. A fairly short drive from Daytona, this is America‘s oldest City. Sights here are amazing, including an old fort Made entirely from coquina.

* Ocala. Home to the Ocala National Forest this location is great for camping, hiking and hunting.

* Sarasota. The home of the Ringling Brothers Museum and lots of cultural attractions, Sarasota is a bit of a drive from Orlando, but it’s worth the gas to check out.

* Kennedy Space Center. Almost a straight Shot across from Orlando, this destination is a Lot more fun than Many might expect. There’s nothing quite like seeing a Rocket up Close and Personal.

* Tampa/St. Petersburg area. Home to some Wonderful beaches, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island and the Lowry Park Zoo, this area is worth the hour or so drive for certain.

Disney may be one of the Sunshine State’s biggest draws, but when the fun of the park wears off, Don‘t fret. There’s lots to see and do on a Florida Vacation.

This Year, UCF Golden Knights had invested heavily in youth and inexperience. They Lost a lot of games but this could in essence be one of the biggest assets for the upcoming year.rnrn2008 was a disastrous season for the UCF Golden Knights as they ended up with a Record of 4-8. The management of UCF attributes this to relatively young players entering their team. Pitted Against Top Quality and experienced players this year, it really has been baptism by Fire for most young players of the UCF.rnrn10 players can really make the Fortunes turn around for the UCF Golden Knights. It is these players playing in different positions that could make it Work for the Knights.rnrnRob Calabrese If Coach George O’Leary has to be believed, and then Rob is one of the hardest working students of this game. He will play the quarterback position, a position, which demands High level of professionalism and aggression. In the Last season, Calabrese went 65 on 165 and had Seven touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Not Bad figures for an initiation!rnrnBrynn Harvey This young Kid adds a lot of Speed to the team. He is a running Back, and in the last season, he demonstrated some glimpses of the speed and Power.rnrnRocky Ross This season Saw some of the Worst catching by the Knights. With the inclusion of Rocky Ross, this problem could be solved. Rocky is mentally fit and has exceptional leadership qualities.rnrnAdam Nissley He started as a tightman but moved on to be an effective right tackle! In the games he played, Adam showed enough to suggest that he could be the Guy who can burden the offensive line of the Knights.rnrnIan Bustillo Ian is a Junior center and in his starts last year, it seemed that he lacked focus. In this season, it remains to be seen if he can put the distractions aside.rnrnTorrell Troup Torrell has been touted as the next big Thing for the Knights in the defensive line. He can Draw Double teams and importantly, open up a lot of opportunities and spaces for the defense.rnrnBruce Miller Here is a guy that could be played almost anywhere on the Field. Very versatile and high energy that is Bruce Miller for you!rnrnLawrence Young Lawrence brings a lot of speed and power to the defense. He was tied second with 72 tackles last year. He is a sophomore linebacker.rnrnEmery Allen This junior cornerback is touted as the Mind of the Knights. In the 9 starts last season, he forced a couple of Sacks and made some good decisions. He also ensured some balls were fumbled by the opposition.rnrn Darin Baldwin He is one of the more mercurial players in the Knights line-up. But, his Value to the defensive line can just not be undermined.rnrnNeedless to say, all the strengths of these players will only come in handy next season. Yes, it did not work for the Knights last season, but better things are in Store.rn
